At 12 years old l stood up from the reddish burgundy pleather cushioned brown metal seat. This particular Sunday my mom did not have to pinched me from nodding or sleeping. I was fully awake and hearing God’s call. I made my way stepping over a few folks to go down the left aisle, which was the street side of our church. Significant because I was born into those streets or as most would call it the “hood”. I eagerly paced down the aging red carpet to the front of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church. It was the church I grew up in an served as a youth deacon and in the youth choir. I even played Jesus once in a community play put on by our church.
In that moment I vividly remember the presence of the Holy Spirit and doing exactly what God gave Paul to tell us was the condition for salvation in Romans 10:9-13. I opened my mouth to everyone and my heart to Jesus and declared He was Lord! Shortly after as a condition of repentance, I associated myself to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. I stepped into the water, went under and came out baptized.
In the years following, God was always putting me in situations to teach and tell others about Him. I however, was still trying to run to my own thoughts and things as most of us do. It took years later for me to finally accept the gift and call that God had given me. God desired to use my spiritual growth journey by sharing my experiences, personal trials and tribulations. The hope is that others may be able to learn and change their perspective to understand that if you put your faith in Christ, He can and will guide you through any part of life. More importantly he is there to freely give you the opportunity for salvation. I tell you there is no greater decision you could ever make than knowing you will spend enternity with God.
Thus, I started TiMP which is a way for me to share and teach the uncompromising truth of God’s word. I am humbled and blessed to spread the love of Christ on to those who may be lost or have just come to know Him. As well as those who want to continue to grow their relationship with Him. I would like to thank everyone for embarking on this journey with me and I look forward to studying God's words with you all.
Special Thanks: First to my amazing and beautiful wife Karla, never easy but she understands God has our back, we just have to keep pressing toward the mark. To my “familia loca” for their love and support. To our oldest son he’s lazy and drives us nuts but we are proud and love him dearly. Thanks for helping your “Pops” build this site. To my mom for always praying and raising me to know God. Lastly my little joys Camilo and Maya, Daddy is nuts about you!
