The Good News Gift

December 27, 2020

Merry Christmas All! Well, we just celebrated that time of year when most hearts seem open to giving and receiving gifts. We go out of our way to shop for just the right gift to put under the tree. Some of us even take time to bless complete strangers because of the joy it brings. The world spins in anticipation of the fictitious jolly red-suited white bearded wonder. Who somehow magically gets all the gifts to their destination around the world in 24hrs! Just in the nick of of time, pun intended.

I’ve personally never met this guy but he sure has a large following. Yet all the gifts taught to be received this way are only temporary. This may influence your life for a brief moment but it will not redeem your soul for eternity. However, the one whom this time of year is suppose to celebrate is often reduced to a birthday wish or a baby in a manger. Instead of who He really is, The Son of The Living God. He who sits on the throne and is The Savior of the World. The Good News! Mark 1:1-8

Jesus not Santa Claus, took on His own creation’s flesh and came into the world as the one and only gift of salvation. Yet, we foolishly rejected the gift. You see the gift didn’t fit our style, the gift didn’t fit our preference, The gift didn’t come from our favorite brand or store. He came down from glory in all righteousness and truth. He stood on His word, He shed His blood and He willing laid down His life. Then rose in 3 days to complete the mission of the greatest gift you could ever be given or accept in your lifetime. His promise of eternal life with Him and God the Father if you just believe. So if you have not done so already, hurry to receive Jesus in your life today! You don’t have to go in a store or stand in line to find Him. No need to go online or pre-order. This gift comes from above and the storehouse is open everyday all day. James 1:16-18
